2024 Diocesan Services Appeal

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Many Blessings upon you and yours! As we begin this Lenten season let us remember the many good things that we are blessed with here at St. Joseph Shrine. Let us also remember our personal blessings and how we are called to unite those blessings with our Lord Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the altar. I find that one way that I can unite and give thanks for my many blessings is by supporting the 2024 Diocesan Services Appeal.

The theme for DSA this year is “the Offering of the Just Enriches the Altar.” This scripture from the book of Sirach is a call to unite our prayers, good works, and blessings more deeply with the sacrifice of the altar in the Holy Eucharist.

My friends, DSA is an opportunity to enrich our Sunday sacrifice, by giving generously to support the missions and ministries of our Church in this community and throughout the Diocese of Lansing.  I ask you to join me, and join together, in support of the good works of our Catholic Church. DSA donations are vital to the corporal and

spiritual works of mercy of our Church, and your generosity underscores this profound truth - that our offerings, our sacrifices, and our charity manifest the very essence of our faith, consistently and without fail.

Please prayerfully consider making a DSA contribution this year. And if you have

given in previous years, Thank you! Your contribution is valued no matter the size.

A DSA video message from Bishop Boyea is available online at https://www.dioceseoflansing.org/DSA. You may also use this link to make a DSA gift via credit card or electronic funds transfer from a bank account.

Our DSA parish goal for 2024 is $34,233, and with your help, I am confident we can reach that goal. Once we reach our goal, 50% of any contributions received, over and above our parish goal, will be returned to our local parish.

Thank you for your generosity. Be assured of my prayers for you and your loved ones.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Fr. Zach

P.S.  If you would like to make recurring gift, simply go to https://www.dioceseoflansing.org/appeal to make a recurring monthly contribution until you choose to stop.  Thank you!

2024 DSA Prayer

Gracious and loving God,

The Eucharist leads us to encounter Your Son, Jesus Christ, who through the Mystery of His Body and Blood reveals Your active presence in our lives.

May the Eucharist make us good stewards of Your abundant blessings and open our hearts to the needs of the Church especially the Diocesan Services Appeal this year.

Give success to the DSA; nourish our family of faith; provide us wisdom and compassion; and by the power of the Holy Spirit, show us how to walk in the footsteps of Your Divine Love.

We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

Amen.
